This past week we had our first holiday off the farm as a family. We stayed in a small coastal village about two and half hours drive from here.
There were early morning walks to the beach.
Which of course turned into early morning paddles for some.
There was clambering on rocks and discovering of treasures.
Traditional sand castles made with buckets and spades, decorated with shells, sticks and seaweed.
As well as drip castles or as we call them fairy castles.
(Can you tell who the chief architect and builder is yet?)
We also did a spot of fishing.
None of us caught anything, but it really didn’t matter (although I’m sure I had a flathead of decent size on the hook at one point 😉 ), because Quinn was absolutely beside him himself with excitement at finally getting to use his new fishing rod, given to him by Nana and Grandad for his birthday.
That shot says it all really.
